Some goals/ reasons for getting started

* My whole life I've never really felt comfortable with my body... I'm looking forward to feeling confident!

*I can't wait to have more energy, I'd like to be one of those people who literally bounces out of bed, this has NEVER been me!

*I'd like to go on a tropical holiday somewhere and actually wear a pretty bathing suit that I like and I'd like to feel good/look good wearing it too...i.e something like this would be the 'ultimate'

*I want to have a healthy BMI that means losing quite a lot of weight! For my midgety frame I should be considerably smaller than I am so that means losing a good 15-20 kilos, yikes! BRING.IT.ON!

*Food is has alway been a reward for me, I'd like to use something more positive as a reward like going to the movies as a treat or taking a nice walk somewhere. Food can be a treat (sometimes) but I think a big part of my problem is that I use food as a reward waaay too often.

*I'd like to be able to run and swim some distance without stopping, when I was about 14 I was really into cross country (it's kind of hard to imagine me as sporty I know!) I was actually pretty fit back then and used to swim all the time which is something I'd like to get back into.

Thats 6 pretty huge goals to tackle, I'm not entirely sure I will get to achieve all of these things this year but even if I get half way I think that is an amazing improvement on my current situation.

Wish me luck, it's going to be a long hard journey but I think my health is worth it!

My new journey...

3 days ago I got the fright of my life when my body decided to make me unbelievably sick. I basically thought I was never going to stop throwing up and after 2 entire days of sweating and feeling like death (and reading a lot of health blogs on the internet) I have decided to make some big changes in my life....

For the last couple of years I have been getting really sick! I have had so many colds, flus and horrible illnesses I can't even count. For awhile I thought it might have been my field of work (sickness kind of comes with the teaching profession) but I'm in my third year now! surely this doesn't explain my craptastic immune system. But what I'm eating does!

I've always been a huge foodie, I love food, I love buying it, making it and of course eating it. But that is not my problem, the problem is what I'm eating. I've spent a long time researching possible answers to my immune system woes and I have come to the conclusion there are several things that have been impacting me- badly!

One of the decisions I have come too involves sugar or my overdose on it! Yep that's right friends I am cutting out sugar! *gasp* for those of you who know me this is HUGE! Sugar is one of my favourite things, but its not so much that im eliminating it its more that I'm changing the way I use it and cook with it.

There is so much research out there supporting a low sugar or 'healthy sugar alternatives' diet and I figure I've got nothing to lose by trying it (except for some excess weight and the potential of being healthier)

Fair not baking friends and lovers of my blog Eat,Bake,Love I'm not going to stop baking anytime soon I'm just going to start baking with more healthier ingredients in a quest to find delicious and nutritious food that won't mess with my body.

I'm pretty excited about this new health journey I'm embarking on! It's going to be about finding wellness and using fresh, whole foods in a world that is saturated with fake chemical ridden foods.

I wanted to create a blog because it means I have some accountability, I'm hoping that you (my awesome friends) will be asking me things like "Hows it all going?" "Are you feeling healthier?" Also if I have a place to share my thoughts and successes I might just inspire someone else to change too!

I'm going to be learning lots and hopefully feeling better really soon!

Love,

Sarah-Rose
